Disintegration

 
 

Inspired by Avengers Infinity Wars, our assignment at the Academy @ The Focus was to create a disintegration effect. For this example, I used a few RBD fractures to create breakup variation in the character. I used those pieces as reference for my pyro and several particle simulations. I instanced small mountain deformed spheres on the particles. To create the infection, I created a growth solver with VEX and used the age data to drive my textures to have a smoother transition to the ash.
